About SSAVEX

Downloading a video from X used to mean a familiar little ritual: copy the link, open a downloader site, paste, solve a captcha, and then find the one real download button among four lookalikes that opened new tabs instead. Every one of those steps existed to serve the site, not the person using it. The idea behind SSAVEX is that none of them are necessary — the URL you are already looking at identifies the media completely, and ssave + x.com = ssavex.com is short enough to remember.

So the product was built around that one equation. The homepage teaches it, the URL bar exercises it, and everything else on the site is in service of making those four letters feel obvious. If you remember nothing else from this page, remember that.

SSAVEX reads public information about public posts. When you open an ssavex.com address, the service looks up the post ID from the URL through the same public embed mechanism the platform offers to everyone, then streams the media files to you as a download. There is no logged-in account doing the looking, no private content being surfaced, and no secret API — just the public web being public.

That honesty has consequences we accept: private posts, deleted posts, live streams and audio Spaces do not work, and when something fails you get the real reason rather than a shrug. A tool that only does what it can actually do is the only kind worth trusting.
