Find the post with the photo you want. Tap or click into it so the address bar shows its URL, then insert ssave before x.com and open the new link. On SSAVEX the image appears at full size; below it, a download button saves the original file straight to your device — or into your photo roll on mobile, depending on your browser's download handling.

The flow is deliberately identical to saving videos. There is no separate tool to learn, no different page to find: the post URL tells SSAVEX what the post contains, and the result page adapts to images, videos or both.

When you long-press an image on X and save it, you get whatever scaled copy your screen was displaying — often re-compressed for your network. SSAVEX fetches the source file the platform keeps for the post, the one that gets regenerated in every size. The difference matters for wallpapers, prints, editing or archiving: edges are cleaner, text is sharper and the file is exactly the format it was uploaded in, whether JPEG, PNG or WebP.

Nothing is re-encoded on the way to you. The download is a byte-for-byte transfer of the original, so repeated saving never degrades the image the way screenshots and re-compression do.

X posts can carry up to four images at once (and a few legacy formats more), and SSAVEX treats them as a first-class case rather than an afterthought. A gallery arrives as a grid you can tap through — each tile opens the full-resolution image, each has its own download button, and a single “Download all” button queues the entire set with sensible filenames so nothing arrives as IMG_1234.jpg twice.

For mixed posts — a video plus screenshots, a thread where the text matters — the page shows each media type in its own section with its own actions, and the post information above keeps the author, date and text visible so you always know what you are saving and from whom.
